I am sure you all are keenly aware of one of the worst droughts in the corn belt States in many, many years. The USDA is now predicting that as high as 40% of the corn crop may be destroyed, and they acknowledged that it could go higher. And, as a result, corn prices have increased from a little less than $6/bushel to over $8/bushel in the past month. Food prices are already on starting to show sharp price increases. SO, Congressmen, will it be FOOD or FUEL?
Do you not believe that it is time to 'slow down the EPA's ethanol mandate'? It is predicted that over 45% of corn grown in the US this year is destined for ethanol. With this corn shortage, I URGE YOU to get involved and pressure the EPA to cut back the ethanol mandate! Refineries can make gasoline without ethanol, but we CANNOT HAVE MANY, MANY food products without corn!
PLEASE act on this soonest!

farmers dont have lobbyists handing out millions of dollars in campaign contributions so the tree hugging do gooders in the GREEN movement get there way.
if the republicans can take back control of the senate and defeat obummer then i think the ethenol crap will slow way down but with so many politicians willing to sell thier soul for money they may never be able to finally and completely kill the ethenol program for good as it should be.
they are doing this knowing fuul well it costs $1.25 to make $1.00 worth of ethenol so it will always have to be subsidized by goverment tax dollars at a loss yet they still force it on us.
Guys, THANK YOU for your support. Encourage all of your friends to e-mail their US Senators and Congressmen URGING them to make the EPA reduce the ethanol mandate before food prices are out of control.

'Poppincork', saw from your Bio that you posted a question on Sportsman if there was a new gas station on Hwy 3235 near Golden Meadows. I checked my State list of gas stations, and all I have in that area on Hwy 3235 are First Cast in Cut Off that sells ethanol free gas, but I'm told their prices are usually higher than other stores.

I did a computer search for a new station on Hwy 3235 in Golden Meadows and surrounding areas, but came up cold.
If you learn any more details, please let me know so I can check to see if they sell E0 so I can add them to my website, PeteLandrysRealGas.com

I passed by it a couple of days ago. Think its called Bayou Gold Casino. I was told it had ethanol only. Thanks for asking.
Must be new Poppincork as it is not on the State's list of gas stations.
I did a computer search and couldn't find it either. Should you pass there again, please stop and get one of their business cards with their name, address and phone number. Then e-mail me the info at way2gopete@yahoo.com
