Chris, that this what I am starting to read about, the Dixie Bar. Would you happen to know how deep and how wide of an area it is. Do you fish the gulf side or the bay side? Would you fish that on the bottom or under a cork? How far of the beach is the bar? Sorry for all the questions. I really can't find any good info on this place.

This was one of many bull reds caught fishing the Dixie Bar with Gulp.
The bar is actually between the Gulf and the Bay. If you launch at Fort Morgan (bay side) you will go down the beach until the land stops. It's a popular place and you will likely see others fishing there. The bar rises up until the water is about ten feet deep-depending on the tide level. If you have a depth finder, you can easily see the change in depth. Trolling or drifting across the bar can be very good. Watch for schools of fish cruising and feeding all over the area.
Here's a few pics from fishing the bar. All were caught on Gulp, spinner baits or topwater. Live/natural bait also works well. Good luck.
Fish the Dixie Bar.
It's a a large sand bar at the end of the point that splits the Gulf and Mobile Bay. Launch at Fort Morgan. Lots of bull reds, drum, jacks, shark and spanish and king macs.
The current can get pretty strong along the bay side beach so be prepared for a tough paddle and be careful of the weather.
