Bayou St John Bass & Perch Fishing

Does anyone know how to catch the bass and perch in Bayou St John? If you do, where should I go to catch them? I know there is great bass and perch fishing in City Park, but I just want to try out Bayou St John.

One of the moderators on this site caught a huge red in there this year. Do a search and you probably can see the pic. Chris Holmes is his name. Caught it out of a yak while waiting for a demo.
