how old
...I still have a 'Runt'...it's almost the same other than having a a curved-up nose and set- back eyes...hate to use and lose...we TD $40 for it and a flyrod 'Tin Lizzy'...a lot of seafood restaurants will buy'em for wall decore which pulls their customers together !!!...cheers
P/S...one well-known blue nose restaurant here in Hammond offered me a seafood platter for'em...and he got ruffled when I turned him down !!! cheers
I started a collection of many different old heddons and other old lures some very early Abu's etc for my nephew, but he was never interested in old fishing stuff. Guess I halfta keep em' hehe..
I tried to get as many of the old Runts I could afford, white w/ black ribs, Black w/ white ribs, white w/red,,,, yellows, greens I wish I still had all the old river runts I lost while still fishing with em'
Allision...I heard Thad's Seafood Restaurant on Club Deluxe Rd. in Hammond was look'n for old fishing items big and small, it's worth a trip or phone call and the stuffed mushrooms w/fried onion rings and stuffed Tilapia and Crawfish Monica was great while over-look'n the water w/a frozen draft of Millers High Life !!!...they giving 'dem blue noses at Don's and Middendorf's a run for the money...(they might even hang 'ya River Runt on 'da wall)...cheers
Don't know if there's enuff miller high life available to have me unload these runts... LOL !
But the idea of some tastey grub as you mention has me tempting a trip to Hammond!
My nephew has missed the boat so to speak, at least for a while. I started collecting old runts, jitterbugs, chubs and bought a few boxes full of the original Bagley's line of lures, when still made in florida and in the paper balsa wood miminc display cards. All the heddons are still in boxes too.
Javajoe, sorry I can't help you with yours, but if you find someone who can please share. I have an old, wooden, jointed bait about 6 or 7 inches long with 'pikie' stamped on top. If I can figure out how to download a pic I will.
Thanks.
