Made a weekend trip to grand isle. Whizzed throught the toll booth, being waved through by workers. Others in our party that came through at different times had to pay without much of a line.

This was a big family (brother/sister their families etc) vacation so and I actually did very little fishing. Saturday morning only in the surf.

The crabs were running in the surf and we did pretty good on them Friday. Saturday morning (not first light) I managed a couple of specks.
at the rocks at the center of the island. There were some bluefish and tiny redfish around but even those were few and far between.

Water was very clear. Could see the bottom in 5 foot of water.

Walked the pier at night with the kids but I didn't fish. Plenty of small white trout and a few specks mixed in. But nothing with any size to them.

Thought I was going to do some mangrove fishing but I never stepped foot in the boat.

Oh and I won the family ping pong tournament! :)
