Well it has been a while since my last report but that is due to the excellent fishing we have been experiencing! It seems as of lately everything including the thunderstorms have come together down in Venice. At least when you can avoid the storms it has been glass calm which is more than I can say about June. Thank god for xm weather!! The rip is formed up nice with plenty of bait and Mahi on it and there is tuna everywhere even close. The trick is getting to them early or grinding it out getting dirty with chum. Tuesday we had a visitor crash a free swimming hardtail right under the spar we were fishing. It was one of the biggest marlin I have seen in a while on or off a hook and I don’t think the 30wlrs would have won that battle. The bottom fishing has been off the chain and I even took the time to make a fun trip last Friday to fill my freezer and boy was that a good choice!
