manchac and lake Pontchartrain both offer good crabbing if you don't want to travel too far

have your heard if they have been bitting.

i go about every other weekend

i went sunday and caught plenty but there really wasnt any size to most of them. only ended up keeping a little over a dozen due to the size of most of them. it was also bad weather but i didnt think that effected crabbing too much. usually you can catch enough if you start around sunrise to be done before lunch

Where'd ya go Salty???...I go out off Highway 434 off I12 headed towards Slidell, But you can catch some off Highway 61 almost too Laplace in canal off side there, Or take I10 towards Laplace and get off in Laplce therere a spot you can actually crab in the Lake off Pier or Go to Madisonville there place there too

Take 434 all the way to the lake (becomes lake rd) probably the Same place you are going. Gotta get there early and get a spot it gets crowded because It is such an easy place to get to and produces

Yea that Bayou Lacombe if ya get out in the Bayou on Left w/ some Crab Nets catch some nice size ones when they start runnin good

There are some big crabs on the South Shore. We put some crab lines out near the bank after fishing the Twin Spans. Caught about 15 in one hour, and many were the big number ones. This was from a boat, but the shoreline along Irish Bayou should be just as good. Throw out several lines with turkey necks.

Take first exit off Twin Spans. There is accessible shoreline to the first bridge.
