Capt. Bob's Leeville Report
Hello Again Cyber Anglers,
Fishing out of Leeville both pre 4 July and post 4 July were great. Even a full Moon and scattered thundershowers could not slow the morning bite as we caught nice fish on both the charter trips and the filming trips. We worked Fornation and it’s surrounding rigs on the incoming tide in the early mornings, and Deep Bayou on the falling tide in the late afternoon. When it would cloud up topwater was the ticket and Carolina rigged live bait worked best for us when the sun was out. It has been this way since early spring and the size fish continue to be big as lunker this hitch was a fat 7lb.1oz caught in D’s Canal while taking shelter from early morning thunder boomers. Best trip was a group of 4 country boys from Newnan Georgia. Pics are inclosed.
My 4th weekend charter rescheduled at the last minute so I spent the weekend on the trailer cleaning and covering the Pathfinder and hanging with the regulars fishing out of Boudreaux’s. I also spent a large portion of time eating their food. The William’s family along with the Guidry’s and Dupey’s seafood extravaganzas were delicious. Fresh Specks, Shrimp, and Crabs were featured thru the holiday weekend. I just put them on fish and they continued to feed me. Earlier in the week, I grazed with the group from Delcambre staying next to me at the Boudreaux’s Camp. Of course I kept close watch on my diet but I only watched, ingesting large amounts of healthy Louisiana seafood on only small amounts of non-approved heart friendly staples. Fishing out of Leeville continues to prove healthy.
