Inshore Fishing in The Rigolets / Lake Catherine in Southeast Louisiana
boat question
Saturday when i took my boat out, i had a some sort of electrical problem. When the boat hit someone elses wake, or a wave the gps/depth finder would turn itself off. The problem would also occur when i opened the console door which my fuse panel is mounted on. I have checked all conections and dont see any corrosion on the panel. Any suggestions?
sounds like you have a partially broken wire.
makes contact till you hit a bump or open the hatch. If it will do it on the trailer when you open the hatch you can jump around each wire till you find out which one is causing the problem.
Removed the spade connector from the groud, cut it off and replaced with a new one. Reconnected ground and been fine ever since. Hit some nice waves to prove it. Good to go..
You could try putting some Di-electric grease inside the plug that brings power into the unit -I had a HummingBird that use to do the same thing , the grease fixed it
