Did you know that you need a gear license for a cast net larger than 8'....just letting you know...other wise all the marina on Grand Isle have live bait. I prefer Bridgeside.

Go to grand terre along the beach and look for the bait and birds working. just stay on the move if your not catching in one area. The bait was spotty west of the island this weekend. Some people with small live pogies were smashing them though.

I also have an 8 foot net so I may just bring it but as far as from the surf do people still catch fish at the jetties? And I really appreciate all the help

the wind this friday is supposed to be wsw below 10 mph i think. is this area still fishable or will the west wind mess it up? thanks

I just came back from Grand isle and using a hook and cork with shrimp worked good at Elmer's Island.

They have been doing very well on the trout at the jetties on the west end at caminada pass.
