Bobcat or deer? Will try to enlarge pic and take a look.

I think it is a Cougar but not sure. The W&F claim there is not any of these in my area.

If any of you really want to have a good look. Just save the picture to your computer and zoom in. I would really like to know if this is a Cougar or not. Is there anyone on here that can really identify if this is a Cougar or not?

I enlarged to 800%. Not too clear, but could be small deer. The face is a little blocked, but looks like it has a longer snout like a deer.

The ears also are not clear enough for me to tell.

The tail looks like a deer tail.

I can't give a definite answer since the pic is not clear, but looks like a deer.

Just saw the same photo on another website and the its larger. Look at the tail; maybe a deer!

Like you said that matter with the tail or is that the inside of the leg, has me throwed off.

I really dont think it is a bobcat because it does not have the markings on its coat like i have seen on bobcats. It is more solid or fawn colored like off a deer in my opinion.

I also have pictures of recent bobcats and if thats a bobcat why isnt it marked up like normal?

If you look the neck is to short to be a dear. Also notice the ears and face.

Definetly a deer. No type of cat with that 'deer' tail.

I was fortunate enough to spend about 25 years in Washington State in a place known as the Olympic Peninsula…..Steelhead, Salmon, Halibut, Black Bears, Elk and Cougars are an everyday thing up there. Looks Like A Cougar To Me, Notice the white on the inside of the legs and chest and its coat does not appear to be very rough. If We Were In The North West There Would Be No Doubt What It Is But Even Here In LA It Still Looks Like a Big Cat to Me. I will post a few pics of some that I have Had the pleasure of hunting…..I Vote For Cougar…

Ok if it's the animal that I can see on the left of the pic. unless there's a another 1 I don't see.
But the animal on the left. Is no doubt a bobcat.

I think its a bobcat. The pic color throws me off a little but it has a short tail like a bobcat.

Deer running, no doubt about it!

The thing everyone is looking at is a deer. But if you zoom in you can see a hairy humanlike figure. Hahaha

Spent a large part of my career working with cougars and bobcats. Pictures not too clear but, I'm almost positive it's a bobcat.

Looked like a bobcat at first, then people said deer so I looked again and zoomed in closer. Looks like a deer.

So it is either a deer or a bobcat and I am leaning to deer. But one thing I can tell you that it isn't is a cougar/moutain lion/panther.

How can I be sure? There is no white on a cougar where there is on this animals tail. Look at the tail and you will see white there. Cougars do not have white right there.

There are other indicators that it isn't a cougar but that one should suffice.

Any ldwf personnel telling you there are no cougars in Louisiana is just giving you there own personnel opinions. The LDWF knows that there have been recently and could easily be in the future cougars in our state.

Anyone who thinks this is a deer, please be courteous enough to announce every weekend where you will be hunting because I dont want to be anywhere around you!!! How can you not see this animal being a bobcat?? Come on guys, really???

look at the ears for one not a deer its short and crouching down look at the way the back is like a cat fur isnt color of a bobcat plus if it was a bob cat you could see the tail in pic would say a its a cougar

Im surprised at how mixed the opinions are. My guess is a mature bobcat. Zooming in and looking at the structure of the skull, particularly the eyes,shows it for me
