What a beauty. If you're catching them on the rod in leaning on the rail in that picture, it's gotta be a blast. That's some light tackle for fish that size. Must be beautiful seeing those fish under the lights at night. I've done quite a few overnighters out there and caught plenty of tuna, but never caught a dolphin at night.

YEP ITS A BLAST,WE ARE SEEING HUNDREADS OF DOPHIN AROUND THE RIG EVERY DAY,ITS LIKE FISHING IN A STOCK POND OVER HERE.WE ARE THE ONLY STRUCTURE THAT I CAN SEE.WHEN THE LIGHTS COME ON AT NIGHT WE CATCH A TUNA,BAIT THE RODS AND WAIT FOR A BIG ONE TO SWIM BY,JUST CAST 10 FT IN FRONT OF THEM AND THEY TAKE IT RIGHT AWAY.THEN HANG ON BECAUSE OF THE SMALL GEAR WE USEING.WE LOUSE A FEW BUT WE R GETTING ALOT ALSO.HERES A WAHOO I GOT LAST NIGHT.

What drill ship are you on and where are you located

One more question. I'm guessing the deck of the drill ship you are fishing from is quite high off of the water. What is your system to get those fish from the water to the deck of the ship? I've seen guys on piers use a large treble hook tied to a rope to gaff and raise the fish to the pier. Did I understand correctly that you are using small live tuna for bait, or some other type of live bait? Keep the pictures coming.
