Slidell Dolphin Community Meeting
WHAT: Lakeshore Estates Community Association hosts experts from NOAA Fisheries Service and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to talk about how you can help protect yourself and the Slidell dolphin.
There have been many reports of people being bitten by a wild dolphin in Slidell. Human-dolphin interactions are dangerous for both the people and dolphin.
This Community meeting will provide:
• A brief introduction of existing law protecting wild dolphins.
• An overview of the history of the Slidell dolphin and the problem.
• What we can do to prevent harm to people and the dolphin.
• An opportunity to ask questions of experts, discuss your concerns, and ways we can work together to raise awareness and prevent future harmful encounters.
WHEN AND WHERE: Monday, June 25 from 6:30-7:30p.m. at the Northshore Harbor Center located at 100 Harbor Center Blvd., Slidell, LA 70461.
The Northshore Harbor Center is located in Slidell, Louisiana. The closest major intersection is I-10 and Exit 261, Oak Harbor Boulevard. Once on Oak Harbor Boulevard, take a left on Lakeshore Boulevard.

I never heard of anyone being bitten by a dolphin around here ,especially around Slidell, there are not that many in the Lake.Educate me on the problem??????
