Thursday was the perfect day for catching trout & plenty of them! Billy Gamel and the crew from Alabama rolled back down to the DU and absolutely crushed the yellowmouths! We had 6 boats running anywhere from Coon Point to the SS platforms and everywhere inbetween! It did not matter where you fished on Thursday as the trout were hungry and eating up big time! Every boat limited out or were really close with 508 fish brought to the cleaning table. Thats what we call a maul dragging trout slam here on the DU! Everything on plastic with the Bayou Chub minnow doing the damage in various colors. LSU and Chicken On A Chain were the best colors on this day. The double rigs lived up to their name as all the boats quickly filled the boxes with fish as it don't take long 2 at a time! The fish are running nice with 14-21 inch fish every day down here on the DU. Big thanks to Capts Gerald,Josh,Travis,George & Brady for their efforts and taking great care of the customers.
