I think they have a right to do this, they are letting you know what is being caught so that would make it a report....I think.

We do pay to advertise and post on this site,for you it is free.If the charter boats in your area are catching then there is the possibility you may catch them also.

Maybe since the weather hasn't been cooperating lately and charter fishermen aren't getting the bookings they're usually use to getting , maybe the postings are helping their business ? Not all the charter fishermen are advertising like you say magnum , some are posting actual fish catching reports .

I am basically an jerk because I said something a few weeks ago about this. I just scroll thru all the guide posts. If the guides would post useful info it would be one thing but I got sick of seeing 'we caught 100 trout on live shrimp in the water'. If I was to hire a guide from here it would be one who made good colorful reports that told details and their reports were enjoyable to read. Most of the reports are all generic. They say the same thing except they change the names of their customers. Like Capt Kreeger says 'I tell people what,how,where,why and I'll give em some baits to help em. If they go to my spot then I'll just move on to another'. Guides you pay to post on here. Don't you want to get your moneys worth? Don't you want people to read your posts? Give more details. Post something funny that happened on your trip. Make it more interesting for us to read and watch your business grow. I saw one guides post for a week that/was the exact same thing except the names were changed. Guides its your money. Make the best of it!!

Well I guess some have to advertise more than others is what I was trying to say .... Some have no problems catching fish regardless the weather conditions and have return customers .
Word of mouth is better than any advertisement !!

What does it matter who gives the reports, as long as someone reports. The same ones complaining are probably the same people not willing to share 'because it may mess up there unique fishing spot.'

The guides who post reports on websites are paying a monthly fee to post them. A lot of the posts are not made by the guide him/herself, but by an employee. I have become friends with several guides via this and other websites, and have gotten a lot of great knowledge from these guys.

I feel bad for ya if ya have to come on here to find out exactly where and how to catch fish. They give you a general area, that should be enough.
