Hello Again Cyber Anglers,
Last week was the same despite the Full Moon as my guest experienced a calm week. The big Trout were on at the usual outside islands and structures. Now the weekend was a different story. We fished the Northwest area again, rigging live finger Mullet and big minnows Carolina style on the bottom. Best artificial bait was a pearl and red tipped Category 5 split tail shrimp under a clip on Comel cork but live caught the biggest and the most on our best trip of the week on Wednesday. Jimmy and his wife Vickie fished with me and we ran to the Northwest Island shoal. Getting there early was key along with creeping quietly into the spot. It was a slight chop that was decreasing to calm. Although the bite was on when we arrived their best fish came in a later morning bite around 10 am. They ended up with 33 XXL Trout, a flounder, and a Rat Red. Still fighting the small Black Tip Sharks and Sting Rays but patience paid off as we never left our anchored position and waited for the Trout to turn back on.
Weather went to hell starting on Friday and was still blowing when we escaped Sunday afternoon. Only mustered 3 mins. of footage between storms on Friday and Saturday. Sunday we never left Boudreaux’s as the south wind was gusting to 38mph. The only thing good that happened, was Kajin Kent of “Launch Nazi” fame, finally caught Redzilla near the Camp Five Pond. He says he is ready for the Big Bull next. Here are some pics of Jim and Vickie’s lunkers and Kent’s Redzilla. Of course all the details are on Between the Banks. LCN Television Network or
http://betweenthebanks.com and don’t forget the BTB fishing line. Tomorrow thru Friday look good. I will let you know. In the meantime good luck fishing…..Capt. Bob
