been huntin the freeze past couple of mornings! lol. and i'm goin in the morning definately! the bucks are runnin like crazy all over up here in washington parish. i have only seen a 6 point, 4 point, and spike but they were scrambling all over the darn place and hopelessly lookin for them females around 7:15 every morning! but there not what i'm lookin for, i want a real good'un...
Went this morning. Got in about 7-7:30 ish . Felt like I was walkin on cornflakes. Ice is loud. We sat till about 11 .Wasnt that cold didnt even use the heater. Saw a doe in the woods but they not moving as much as usual. Trailcam pics show bucks and some does looks like the bucks are keepin those does in the thickets and not lettin em eat alot.Needless to say good day but we have a few does down for the year so we gonna let small ones go.
spent 10 hours in the climber directly facing the wind on both Fri & Sat seeing nothing @ Red River wma. I was surrounded by 90%ice because i was in the woods at a flooded location. Anyone ever have deer walking through 1'' thick ice before? Seems as though they left my spot for higher ground. Hate that sound of breaking ice walking to the stand as well. Still fun grinding out 2 nights in the cold with 6 sleeping bags and no heater.
Im going to try it out in the morning, and like you said take my time walking. The deer should be moving pretty good tomorrow.
