I "Heard" (You know how that goes) this was a 400 pound buck killed in Maine. Anyone know another story or maybe the right one?

400 LB DEER

That below posting for "urban legend" is not this deer. I looked at the photos. Different person, and definately different deer. This deer is much larger in body and antler size. I have a hard time believing it though. The picture actually makes the deer look more like 700 lbs if you ask me. I'm curious though. Either way, the antlers on that beast are huge.

wow

if that was killed with fair chase that deer has world record potential if scored as a typical. Usually a big body like that makes the horns look small but thats just the the opposite of whats going on here. One thing that hurts it is that missing g-4 on left side which is probably an 8 or 9 inch deduction. All that said i would still like to see one half that size!

The 412 pound deer is a different deer than the one in this picture. I believe I have seen this picture somewhere in the past.

wildernesswhitetail also owned sudden impact.a 406" a 2 year old.I watched sudden impact grow every time they updated the pics.he got a infection in his horns and they had to be removed but sadly he died from the infection. he was a monster and possible world record.

Yep, he is there so does that mean he was pen raised and feed high protein food ever day of his life?

For some reason when I tried that website earlier it didn't come up correctly.

deer

they claim its superior genetics, but yes theyre in a pen and fed extreme proteins to make sure they reach top potential. its probably some kind of altered genetics. they sell hunts, breder bucks, does, fawns, and semen from their top bucks. I met a guy that paid 75,000 for a breeder buck.

Maine deer

This may have not been from Maine but I've hunted Northern Maine and I can tell you there are some monster deer there.I would love to go back, once you get north of Augusta it basically wilderness. Near the Canadian border, where we were, it is wilderness and if you think we have a lot of bears in La. Maine is full of them. We hunted on area were you constanly had to be looking over your shoulder. If you ever get the opportunity to go by all means go.

JB

Sorry for the late response, but NO!! They need to move our season JB. I have been saying that for years. Open it for Thanksgiving for a few days for tradition purposes only then start it back up around Christmas through February.
