patch job and PVC rail support
rails are stronger than when new
ready for the shallow's!
This is my newest project. I bought this little pirogue with 2 leaks in the bottom and a number of cracks around the rails. Luckily there where no soft spots so i decided that a little elbow grease would do it good. I started out by sanding down and patching up the 2 leaks in the bottom. Next was the hand rails. There where 4 cracks and they all had been fixed a number of times before. By the time i sanded down all the old fiberglass that someone had piled on it was obvious that another patch job just wouldn't do. Those rails needed something to support them and the only place to mount anything is underneath. Low and behold i just happen to have an old piece on 3/4" PVC pipe on the ground beside me. lol It fit perfect so i went to the hard wear store and got 2 10' pieces. I glued them on and than clamped them down and let it sit over night. That gorilla glue is some tuff stuff and did the job good. Those rails are stronger now than ever before! Next was a fresh coat of paint and now i'm ready for the water. Tomorrow i'm gona build a removable seat with adjustable padded back rest. LOOK OUT DUCKS, I'M COME'N FOR YA! Any one out there think i should camo it? If so, what color?
