I can tell its been while since i had fished fresh....I had a worm on a little ol bobber letting the kids fish also. My wife looked over at me like I was stupid and says (would you quit popping the cork we are not fishing leeville) I did not realize I was popping my cork thats how much I am used to salt. I did get some bites off of a chicken on the chain jigging with a 1/4 ounce jighead but couldnt set the hook its like they were just bumping it. Getting ready for a good spec season this year....gearing up. I have been making my own jigheads and baits.I can produce 100 jigheads in about 30 minutes now.
My buddy and his friend were there a few weeks past and caught bulls on the ones I had just made. They held up well they have a long shank and are designed to get further down the bait so you can hook the specs better (alot of missing tails on plastics). We tried some at the mine a while back and the wife caught about 20specs on em so looks like it works for both reds and specks. If you down there when we go in may I will give ya a hand full to try.We might go in april for a quick trip......know a honeyhole does well in april. I will e-mail youwhen we go.
man that eager to get on the water..lol.......did you fish the out going tide? did the cats bite on poping corks? lol
