My buddy just got on a lease, north of singer, won't say the name of it cause it isn't my place. He spends lots of money putting out feed, blinds, etc. This was his first year on the lease. Ok story time, he was not seeing any deer except for on his cameras. I went with him to check it out and there was sign everywhere. We found some trails that all connected in one spot with a community rub. I told him he would for sure kill something there, he hunted and bam! Big ol 7pt, 20in spread. We knew there were more in there because sign was everywhere. He kept telling me about some dogs he kept hearing running through the woods,(note: only on week day hunts) So one Wed. after graveyard shift we left and traveled to the lease got there about 9am. We hunted till 11am, we heard the dogs! I told him it was, "Recon time!" When we crawled out to the edge of his lease where the dirt road was(wearing our orange), there was a truck with a big ol guy sitting in the back with a shotgun. We were puzzled, untill we saw five more guys lined up the road sitting on buckets facing the woods. We could here a guy hollaring in the woods, and then bang, bang, bang. Then everyone running that way and deer running out the woods, across the road, and into my buddies lease. After the shooting stopped we went up to the guy in the truck, (after yelling at them) they made it sound like everything was fine and they could be there because the land they were on was not leased. ??? Do not know how that works and my buddy told me that the land was not leased because his club is looking at leasing it. They run these dogs on my buddy's lease also because he has been on his stand and deer being followed by hounds with collars (shock) have flown by several times. He only killed that one buck and all the other deer he seen were being chased. These guys did not have on orange (all the way) and were definetly outlawing. Can you even hunt out the back of a truck?? Anyways, I don't know what area this is in, but it is just North of Starks, right after the parish line.
