Area 6 where I hunt they are chasing does all over, tearing up some trees too. Lots of activity. Sounds to me like you have a doe over-population problem. Your buck to doe ratio is out of whack. So many does, the bucks don't have to chase too many or too far to breed them. But that's just my opinion.
...bucks are soon to follow. Just look for the does that look nervous or skittish, and Buckstrong wil be along shortly. Bring along a grunt or a can to get them close.
Your on the Does and the BIG boys will show up soon enough! I would stay put and be patient. I like to hunt above the Does PRE / DURING / and POST RUT.
That's why they call it hunting and not killing!!!!
It's prerut for us too in St. Landry Parish. Beginning to see some bucks. Stay near the does, the bucks will show up this week or next HOPEFULLY, I've got some vacation this week and the weather looks right.
