Yeah I know the fish and I look kinda related huh? haha The rodholders you see are on a milkcrate in the tank well for storage. I have 4 rodholders on it and 2 adjustable rodholders up front. Adding 2 flush mount rod holders aft for trolling again. Its great fishing out of these things. I have another hatch with 2 55watt halogens on it for fishing seabrook along with a green submersible light that goes through my scupper, anchor trolley on the side so I can anchor from either end of the yak by the pull of a string, Garmin 545s color gps/sounder, led stern light, rudder for keeping her straight and drift fishing and anchor windlass below deck. yep, I went nuts with it but it is a blast.
There is nothing like hooking into a bull red in that thing and going for a ride.
Check out www.bckfc.org and www.huntnfish.com as bckfc is a local kayak fishing club and huntnfish has many of us there along with a wealth of knowledge of all types of fishing as well.
Been out there many of times at night. Just got to becareful with the yahoos out there that should not even be able to ride a bike much less operate a boat. Caught good mixes there, reds, trout, big sailcats and big big sharks in there! Out there one night and had a nice size tarpon come between a friends kayak and mine in the lights. It snice out there at night sometimes.
Dear Mr.Drum,
Thanks for sending the email. You must have been pretty frightened when you broke the surface and saw that ugly mug! It is pretty scary, isnt' it. Glad to hear you let him go.
Didn't know your kind will eat trout, but don't you prefere live crabs, oysters, etc.?
Oh! With regard to the worms, I think Barret has been getting treatments for them, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. But with respect to the "making babies" thing, well ... let's just say there's a rumor circulating that he's lacking a little in that department. At least, that is, in the "trying to make babies" department.
Way to go, Barret! By the way, when is the radar mast coming?
WHERE WERE YOU FISHING?
