I may have ran the other way if I had saw that thing.
Did you happen to notice an old injury on the right side of the deer while cleaning? That what I have heard causes the deformed antlers like that.
Could be an injury or could be a deformity as well. I shot a good six point a few years ago that looked normal on the outside but when I wen to cut the rack off I found the skull was deformed and the antler actually started on the side of the deers head. Another possibility is that the deer bumped the antler this spring and that caused it to grow down.
Looked like the poor guy had a point growing into his jawbone which prevented him from eating properly. Anyway glad he's out the gene pool.
