Yes, the land south of the intercoastal is private land, and at the prices that the new owner wants to charge, it can stay private! A group of us (fathers/sons/etc.) hunted that area for over 50 years, but right before Katrina someone bought it and wanted to charge $5000 a person for the rights to hunt there! Leases there used to go for $600-$800, and the hunting had not been very good for several years.

There is no public land for hunting anywhere near Bayou Bienvenue.
If you are inquring about the Bayou Bienvenue NRA (Refuge) then it would be in both the east and west zone since Hwy. 90 runs through the middle of it, HOWEVER HUNTING IS NOT PERMITTED ON THIS REFUGE. Fishing on this refuge is allowed, but not hunting.
If you are inquiring about the leased property around Bayou Bienvenue south of the Intercoastal and East of the MRGO, then that is in the west zone, but it is private land.
