Yes, Attackpas would be your best bet. You can get there off the Canal Road in Napoleonville, Im not sure the exact Hwy. but there is a big bank across from a Shell Station. Thats the road you need to take.

It depends on which side of the lake you wish to fish and/or how big of a boat you have. If you have a small boat and the wind is blowing and you put in at Attakapas, you will be limited to that end of the lake. Attakapas is a good landing but I prefer to launch at Gaudet's. It is a launch ran by a woman and her husband. They are both extremely nice and will tell you where the fish have been biting and will also help you fix any problem you might have with your boat. If you put in there, you can fish Bay Alcide, Grande Bayou, and Pierre Part Bay without getting into the lake. This works well if the lake is rough.
Right before you cross the draw bridge over Pierre Part Bayou, take a left. Follow the canal about 1 mile and the launch is on the right. It is a very good launch. I have been launching there for many years. There is also Bayside that is just across Pierre Part Bayou.
It all just depends on which end of the lake you want to fish. If you want to fish more of the Magazille/Grassy Lake area, put in at Attakapas. If you want to fish Crackerhead, Grosbeck, Alcide area, put in in Pierre Part Bay.

From Baton Rouge, one of the easiest launches to get to is Sportsman's Landing on Bayou Corne. I can usually get there in less than an hour from I-12 & Airline. Cross the new bridge, take LA1 through Plaquemine to White Castle, turn rt on LA 69, go to LA 70. Go right on 70 about 3 miles and it will be on your left. There's a station at the corner of LA 69 and LA70 that has misc tackle, food, drinks, ice and gas. $4 launch (excellent), port-o-let (always clean). Bayou Corne will take you Grand Bayou, Bay Alcide, Texaco Canal and the Lake on the north end. Posted a report a few weeks ago, kept 18 Sac on black/chartreuse plastics. good luck. If you don't the area very well, you might want to bring a map, all them canals start to look alike.

exit off hwy 1 in napoleanville... there is a sign that tells you where to turn... all the way down to Attakapaw landing.

Attakapas is at the end of LA 401. Take a right on 401 (heading south on LA 1) and drive all the way to the lake. The landing is at the end of the road about 8-10 miles down. There is a sign on LA 1 as previously noted. I've used it, very good launch and free. The only drawback is the limited parking and it can get pretty crowded on weekends. It's the only place I've ever launched when wanting to fish the south side of the lake.
