New license

Bought my 07/08 hunting license today. It's three feet long and comes with 3 buck tags, 3 anterless tags, and 2 gobbler tags. Each tag must stay attached to your license to be valid, and is only removed to be placed on your kill once is recorded on your harvest card. Each tag also has your license number on it. Seems to be well thought out. I'd say is about impossible to bum a tag from someone, and thats the way it ought to be. I'm interested to see how or what you do if you have a kid under 16 hunting with you, are they going to have kid tags too?

lifetime lic

I wonder how do we go about getting our tags. I'm guessing it will be just like getting your HIP Lic. They will just pull up you info and then print you just the tags.

I was told by LDWF that a kid under the age of 16 will be able to get their own tag.. All they need to have is their hunter safty card.. I'm not sure how the lifetime holders will work..

Hunter safety

I've been told that the Hunter Safety classes are designed for kids 12 years and older. That they prefer kids under 12 years old to wait. So how's that gonna work out?

New License

I ordered mine today on the LDWF web site. When you fill out the form, there is a place to request tags by lifetime licensees.

If your having a problem with the online sales and you are a citizen you must click on the button that says drivers license number. All residents have to enter their D/L num to access the new license page. Even if you just enter your customer number from last years license, the site will not let you go to the new license page.

same thing with me..it should have an icon for lifetime license holders to click on to have their tags shipped to them.I shouldn't have to "figure it out."

Don't think it will cost much to ship 6 deer tags. Then again it might be another source of revenue they don't get from lifetime lic. holders.

This is typical with LDWF. Let's make some other pain in the arse system for Lifetime License holder. The whole purpose od purchasing one of these was so I wouldn't have to stand in long lines, jump through hoops all of the time, or pay b.s. shipping and handling charges. Typical!

Just called the LDWF office at 225-765-2887 and the lady who answered the phone said wait about a month for tags. She said bring your lifetime lic. to store where they sell lic. and they will give you your tags. Hope this helps.

I have a lifetime license and yesterday I went to get my tags for the season... The store didn't have any codes for the lifetime holders... She called LDWF and the person told her that they will be ready in about 45 days.... There will be no charge.....

How is this typial LDWF? Its going to take a little time to get the tag system right. People complain about everything they do. If some of you think you can do a better job, go get a job with the LDWF and do your part to make it a better department until then get over it and enjoy the outdoors. Its not like Bow season opens this weekend and you need the tags now.

Deer Tags

LDWF is doing their best, they had to change License Vendors as they got a Cheaper Price on their Bid, remember that LDWF MUST take the Cheapest Bid per state law. Give them a chance, they are working HARD to fix the problems, NOBODY is Perfect.

I wonder what is next.

I could not agree more. I purchased my LT license when they was first offered. I was actually believing, what was clearly stated back then, that I would not have to continue with the license buying crap. This would be the end of my buying. No other licenses except the federal duck stamp would be required. Now there is a HIP, gear license, trawl license, tag system, and additional things I do not care to mention. I believe that the state should send our tags to us LT license hold that decided to pay in advance for our hunting opportunities as a courtesy. The state has had the opportunity to "hold" my three childrens, my wifes, and my money for sometime now. LDWF now show me the love and send me my tags.

You know that would take another year to process those tags!I agree with Nutty about the ball dropped at the scrimage line, some kind of foresightness they have in our state. If a trashcan ran for governor I would vote for it.

I recieved my tags in the mail today..(exactly one month to the day when it all got started)..finally...and I recieved "tags only"....THEY HAVE PRINTED ON THEM.."NOT VALID IF DETACHED FROM HARVEST REPORT CARD".....well mine are alredy detached from the license for one(cause they didnt send them originally) and the turkey tags are printed in the middle of the deer antlerless and deer antlered....so if you kill your first deer and peel out a tag.....most tags will come detached from the harvest report card..hehehaha....man this is gonna become a huge mess..!!
