Had excellent window of opportunity today(again solo trip)and wanted to expand my sac au lait horizons so I did some exploring my favorite T-Funky(Todd Masson has no one but himself to blame if folks figure out his 'spots' and me and two super-nice T-Funky fisherman got a kick out of his recent video-hey Todd thanks for letting the whole world know about the fine reds some folks were nabbing a few years ago at the Williams Blvd Powerline Pilings)anyways, enough for my ranting but me and a buddy exchanged texts regarding certain recent videos and all they do is tremendously increase fishing pressure-I love solitude when fishing T-Funky,hence I leave Go Pro's at home and I NEVER fish T-Funky on week ends, way too much pressure. In my first spot, nabbed gorgeous sac au lait, only to have him spit Salter tube jig tipped with both Crappie Psychic trailer(folks they work extremely well, especially coupled with PowerBait Crappie Nibbles-I have used Neon Chartreuse exclusively-sacs love em and so do bass).Found some willing participants, met two fine gents, first one Chris in very nice white Ranger aluminum bass boat(Chris, awesome rig)-gave him the skinny on what and where I was nabbing some fish, second gent,Sean,in fine pontoon rig with trolling motor on one end and small outboard on other-showed him two fat sacs that I nabbed while he was fishing nearby.About the time I was ready to call it quits, was doing typical jigging near bases of cypress trees and felt like I was snagged on log but got what looked like a snag free and saw the pulsating on my slip cork, nabbed huge sac that most likely was well in excess of 3 lbs-think LA record came from Westwego Airport Canal and this woulda been my personal best, thankfully I was not running a Go Pro,and hoisted fish not realizing how immense he truly was(mouth easily size of 16 oz tumbler)and he bounced off gunwale of my Southfork(should have grabbed net once I saw this beast)and not long after, ran into Sean and related story. He did see the two bigger sacs right after I nabbed them and the one I lost easily three times their size(both close to a lb)!!Oh well,at least I know where de beast resides!!!Black and chartreuse Salter tube jigs tipped with Crappie Psychic trailer, chartreuse, coupled with PowerBait Nibbles de ticket,so easy and so much fun and yesterday's 2 lb bass was a ton of fun on Slab Daddy jigging pole.Someone should sponsor T-Funky fishing tournament with only jigging poles allowed and no live bait, would be ton of fun,no doubt!!!

PS Final tally-7 sacs 2 bass woulda been nice to have wall-hanger but dat's why de calls it fishing not shopping!!!

Just took quick look at bowfishing report from yesterday and in my fishing report I failed to mention absolute beast of an alligator gar that I spotted trying to hide his fat body under the thick lilly pads. This beast was well over 6 ft long and looked to be about 36 inches or better in girth,no clue what he weighed but guess is well over 100 lbs!!Funny thing is I nudged him with tip of Slab Daddy pole and he never flinched!!Guess he told me he was boss of dat section of T-Funky!!

Gonzales Fisherman,Guess my problem with de 'Marsh Man Masson' is quite simple, too much information.Don't get me wrong,I thoroughly enjoy watching his videos but sometimes too much information is not helpful, especially in dealing with public land/water situations. You could only imagine how frustrated I would be if on my next T-Funky trips, there were tons of boats in certain areas where I have been nabbing some fine and fat sac au lait.No one pointed me in the right direction, trial and error and careful use of my boat's electronics has helped immensely.Quite a number of years ago,I was nabbing quality reds, all about 18-26 inches, basically within eyesight of the Wiliams Blvd boat launch and rarely,if ever, saw another boater and when I did I mentioned to them how much fun it was and then a buddy of mine clued me in to a NOLA.COM article and that opened the flood gates, same thing with a recent video at the Causeway.A deceased Lake Pontchartrain speck master,Bill Hungerford, would roll over in his grave if he knew Todd was broadcasting about the Causeway.Guess what,I hunt Big Branch extremely successfully just about every year and you would not believe the volume of requests I routinely get for just about GPS co-ordinates and how dumb would I be to broadcast via You Tube videos of my Big Branch hunts or T-Funky sac au lait trips.Dat would ruin not only the solitude I desire but would put undue pressure on an already-pressured resource.Get my drift!!!

Mandevillian, sorry Todd too much info will ruin certain areas!!
