As a kid I grew up fishing City Park all the time. Use to have a group of guys that fished it all the time. Joe Buck was the band director for the School inside the park and he fished it every day. Black worm was his only bait. The local paper did a story on him with over 50 bass he caught over 6 pounds. They have over 25 miles of shore area to fish in the park a great place to spend a few hours fishing. Eddie worked there for years and protected the bass by closing the park during the spawn reason it was so good.

Wish they would do that again! Wish they would make it catch and release only! Something killing all the turtles Now around the golf course. I took videos of at least a dozen turtles too weak to move yesterday and some that were alive last weak and now are hollow shells

danno,Located in New Orleans not far from Bayou St.John.Plenty of lunkers lurk out there and not sure if you could fish it from a yak but that would yield unbelievable access.I used to routinely fish Bayou St.John with buddy and we fished outta pirogues and would toss Devil's Horse Toothpicks and got some monster strikes,do not know why we strayed away from that area, guess me living in Mandeville and hitting Cane Bayou,Bayou Lacombe and T-Funky is probably why!!
