Pulled a 2 man limit out of Richard K Yancey Saturday morning. I love those great public land days.

Very fine strap, indeed, and buddy from Abita KC Council was telling me about how awesome Yancey can be.I hunt locally and have found some willing mallards, just had tough one today and clean-whiffed on huge greenhead that came in un-announced and normally I pretty much stand the entire hunt and decided to sit and was seated when huge greenie came low-on-de-deck,shoulda been easy shot but think he was way too close and pattern had zero chance of spreading and missed two more shots-did drop much less desirable but fully-plumed drake spoonie and he dove before I could retrieve him and buddy took one fine drake grey.Hoping to finish strong last four hunts!!Awesome results, indeed, love smacking greenheads in de face!!

I’ve been hunting up there two seasons now and haven’t gotten on any mallards yet, I’ve hunted the silver lakes and the waterfowl impoundment. Guess I need to try the flooded timber by the river

Yea, we had a tough year but persistence pays off, actually killed those in silver lakes, they just wanted where we were at for some reason, only great hunt we had in silver lakes, gone the next day, have had some good seasons when the river is high and the woods are flooded

Thought I recognized that hole y’all are in; if it’s the same one I’m thinking of I hunted it about 3 weeks ago and we shot one wood duck. We were the first ones out there that morning and some guys came in after and I told them to go try the next best hole I knew of back there and they ended up killing a bunch of greys, just the way it goes!
