It was a beautiful morning in Shell Beach this morning. Pat Bonin, of Louisiana Sportsman, joined me with his motley crew of childhood friends from New Iberia which included Mike, Ged, Shanon, and Pat. We loaded up the boat and off we went on another fishing adventure. As I pulled up to Campo?s Marina I could tell something was wrong by the look on Robbie?s face. ?We?re sold out, Jakamo!? Oh Shit. But before I could go into panic mode, Robbie told me where Zack was making bait and settled me down. I found the bait boat and Zack loaded the live well with the most lively Campo?s shrimp possible. This little set back cost me an hour, and with the amount of boats out today I was concerned. As we pulled into the first stop, I noticed the water was much dirtier than it was yesterday. I put the anchor down and Shannon was the first to strike, putting a 14? speckled trout in the box. Boom, Pow, Ping!? the boys from New Iberia were working on the fish! Now the bite wasn?t nuts, but it was plenty steady. And slowly, we started to put a box together. I almost moved several times, and then another school would move through, so we stuck it out. With conditions deteriorating, we took it to the house, all while making plans for their next trip. Thanks again to Pat Bonin for putting the trip together.
