Perch, Bream and Goggle Eyed fishing with my Mother

I haven't been on here in awhile but I am needing some good advice. My parents lost everything during the past flood and 2 months into it my father passed away. So needless to say it been hard on the family especially my mother. So Im trying to accomplish a task of things I know she likes to do but haven't done in years. One of them is fishing. I love to fish and I know personally fishing is one of those sports that will take your mind off of your troubles. She is a 71 year old cane pole fisher-woman so saltwater was cancelled. Anyone have any good places I can take my mother to enjoy herself fishing on weekends. a 2 hour radius of Baton Rouge is the limit she is willing to travel. It will have to be from the bank because after the flood she doesn't want to see or get in another boat. Thank you in advance for your help.

Lamar-Dixon Expo Center has a pond that they have opened to the public.
