Bass Fishing in Southeast Louisiana
Went fish Saturday, March 2, off of the Intercoastal in the Bayou Black area. I launched about 10:00 and picked up about 5:00. The fishing was slow. I spent most of my time flipping shallow, didn't have any luck till I backed off and started fishing the deeper grass. I caught four nice bass and had a handful of bites that I missed. All four bass I caught were full of eggs and weren't on beds yet. I caught them on a magnum shakey head worm and a speed craw in about three to four feet of water. I had a better day than I thought I would with the blue bird skies, cold air, and twenty mile an hour winds.
