sorry to say but the word management does not pertain to state wmas--its just a war zone for doe days--shoot and kill anything that moves and call it management--we in la. have some of the best public places to hunt but are not being managed properly--that doe about to drop will probably be killed and also the 40 lb little one at the same time on doe day--

also that spike as well will be dead meat. you very seldom see a good buck on the wmas. look at the la big game records, most of the top bucks were killed years ago, which means the ldwf definetely don't care about managing for trophies. but yet they have slot limits on bass lakes, just does'nt make sense to me.

The LDWF is not in the business of managing for trophies. I don't see what the problem is though. I don't hunt where you all do, but most of the WMA's in North La. are good as its ever been as far as killing big bucks. Even in 1997 four of us killed four bucks that scored between 126 & 141, all weighed over 200 lbs. Mine weighed 250 lbs. All of these deer came from a public WMA that is heavy hunted & some people cry that they've killed all the deer on it.

Nice pics Basinboy. Right now I'm getting over 150 pics of doe for every buck pic I get on all my cameras. Even on our lease most of the members think we don't have many deer. I try to keep a straight face & never show them my pics.

Basinboy, just let me know when. I might need a little help anyway. That little clean out job on my knee can't be done. They are trying to get me scheduled to have my knee replaced. Looks like I'll be off during most of the hunting season. Hey, I need someone to help drag out my deer.

I'm a great dragger! Thats why I try to bring a buddy on every hunt. Always can use a dragger! lol
Be glad to drag a deer for you. I like the ones with them big handles though! Them slick heads don't drag too good. But they eat just as good if not better!
