Any reports?
Has there been any reports on bass fishing up toward Lery? I haven't been down there since before the storm & really curious of how the bass fishing was affected. I do admit I've assumed the worst & hope I'm wrong. I really enjoyed the area and would like to fish it more.

I want to get into speck fishing but I have a 18' flat bottom boat that doesn't appreciate the wind. Are there areas down there to speck fish without getting blown all over the place if the winds pick up?

Any help would be greatly appreciate!

Thank you! It's looking like ill be heading that way in the morning & make my speck fishing debut lol. Does the launch have ice and artificial bait? I've got several colors of 3' cocahoe minnows & 3/8oz jig heads in red, white, char to put under a popping cork...will this stuff work? How deep to fish? What to look for other then diving birds?

Learning experience
We made it to sweet water around 6:15 after waiting 20 mins for first launch to open up a drive thru lane. Headed straight south and hit the pipeline that brings you straight into dead duck pass. Start at the point where the pipe line hits the pass caught one. Trolled our way up and got a few few white trout around 11 3/4 (thinking it was the same regulations as specks) next thing I knew birds started diving about 75 yards in front of us. I was slowing trolling trying to let the wind blow us to them then to boat came in full speed and scared the birds away and caught a few fish. Finally found a spot producing a few until the porpoises came it and ran the off. Couldn't find anymore the rest of the day. All came of salt water assassin electric chicken under cork ranging for 18'-24'. We brought home 4 specks, 1 red (lake John), threw back 7, and missed about 25 (setting hook to hard). We were satisfied with the results considering it was our first time ever fishing salt water...great learning experience. The employee at sweet water are very nice and make doing business a pleasure.

Did not get a chance to talk with capt jack
