Hey, CC, we got word last night that the island will likely be closed at least until early next week, so you might want to check before heading down.

Andy just talked to city hall in grand isle. you can travel to the island but must leave before dark. NO WATER OR ELECTRICTY ON ISLAND. as with past storms would suggest bring proof of ownership of property. last time the police wanted to make sure you belonged there.

We got as far as the old bridge right after Katrina and they sent us back to the sheriffs office in Galliano to have a special camp owners ID made before they'd let us on the island. They didn't say anything about that did they?

I went down yesterday. I did not have to show i.d. or get a pass. Police were escorting a caravan of cars from Fourchon to past the road washouts. Island looked pretty good considering.

Power restored to Grand Isle. Now have water, electric, and gas.
