Memory a little rusty, here is what I remember. The lady who owned this business went through some hard times. Her husband tried to kill her but got caught. She then tried to keep the business going, but it suddenly closed after the incident. It was roped off, and she left a sign saying she was fine for anyone concerned.
It stayed closed until recently when there appeared to be some activity with a sign saying live bait available soon. The trailer had been moved. But lately its appeared dormant. Bottom line, I don't think its in business right now. There are plenty of places in Slidell selling live bait, though, as well as La France Marina in Mississippi.
Also sounds like her husband burned one too many bridges. That was news to me. Thanks for the followup.

Well since no one gave me a resoponse, I did a Google search and found out the guy drowned at his bait shop a year ago under some pretty strange circumstances. Aparrantly, he allegedly attempted to put a hit on his wife and the would be hitman turned ststes evidence on him. then he mysteriously turns up dead a year or so later. Don't quote me on this; thats about what I read in a TP archived article.
