Inshore Fishing in Leeville / Golden Meadow in Southeast Louisiana
Meat Haul
Made a trip back to Leeville Tuesday & Wednesday. Tuesday morning had a little wind blowing so I headed to the rocks at Deep Bayou. Water was very dirty from the shrimpers trawling in the lake & bay. Also the storms from the past few days had it turned up as well. Started hunting for cleaner water and ended up on the East side of Bayou Lafourche. Fished the canals and run outs. Baits used were live minnows carolina rigged along with pastic swim baits. Total catch for the two days were 12 Specks in the 15 to 18 inch range and 144 white trout. I don't think it really mattered on the color of the plastics but the one used the most was LSU colored and the advocado green/red flakes.
As I have a large fish fry planned for about 20+ people in the near future those White Trout are going to come in handy.
Spending Thursday cleaning the boat up a little and re-gearing. Will be back in Leeville Friday & Saturday with son-in-law. Hopefully the weather will hold out. Suppose to be 50-60 percent chance of rain Saturday. Don't really mind the rain but when it starts lightening I am headed for the marina.
Good luck & safe fishing.
