READY FOR MUDBUG SEASON AGAIN!!!!!
Few North Bayou Blue Trout
^5 Gaspard........I've never caught much off Bank Anywheres down South I'd rather bring the Boat&beat the marsh area around Catfish Lake, Knowing i can catch few reds&drum on my Favorite Points, Now what would be real nice is to run up on some Big Trout over off Blue Bayou Area I've caught some the Biggest ones over there head south from the Lake, Have caught few North there in 2 block but not near as Big as South end
for me just by myself the lake has been producing around 20-40 white trout a day in the 10-11 inch size and the same size for specks but im only catching a dozen or so of those, once in a while i get a 12 1/4 inch speck.
im strictly artificial but the guys with minnows are catching limits of reds in the marsh early before the water comes up too much and you cant reach the fish.
i went today and the water was like glass with no wind but the oyster boats are harvesting in the lake so the lake is all muddy water and i caught no fish today. went to the back canals and caught around a dozen 11 inch trout then left around 11:30, it was too hot and i had to cut grass today.
yea mule chaser dont misunderstand the post. i have also limited out once or twice road side but it is rare. just puting out the facts not to lie to people and get there hopes up. whats happening is people may go and only catch a few and think they are doing something wrong and thats simply not the case.
Deep holes adjacent to shallow marsh flats hold fish during extreme hot and cold water conditions.I like using gulp in pretty much any color.gold spoon and don't forget market shrimp, the stinkier the better for reds.zoom flukes Carolina rigged in the deeper channels with good current works well also.
Its cool Gas my brother fishes the Pass alot catches some Big Bull Reds sometimes every once in awhile catch few trout&flounders, He tell me when he see what i caught from Catfish Lake his son calls that Quaruim Fish next to the Reds they catch in the Pass lol , like i told ummmm one day ummmmm where yours @??? lmao he didn't have Any
hey jis it did not change since the last time u went. we are born and raised down there, we have a camp near elmers island and dont catch no where near the fish some people say they do. not saying u wont catch, but go out there, enjoy the view catch a couple fish and relax. Now i will tell you that if u want to sit at a spot all day, that you know has yeilded fish in the past you may hit the feeding hour or some fish passing thru, and do well. But it wont happen every time.
