Waterfowl Hunting in Delacroix Island in Southeast Louisiana

Paw-Paw and I with some friends from up North on a Teal hunt last season.
Early Teal Sightings in Delacroix
Last Monday on a fishing trip I saw the first Teal of the season. It was only a single teal and I did not want to get to excited and chalked it up to a hold over or cripple from last year. Yesterday, Paw-Paw and I made another trip to Delacroix and after catching some trout decided to pass around the land and look for more teal. NOW I AM EXCITED! We saw a total of 25 Teal, prety good for the last day in July. The teal were in small flocks of 6-7, and we also spotted a couple of groups of 3 along with some singles and pairs. We still have a month and a half till the shooting starts and the numbers will continue to increase until opening morning. Get ready! It should be a heck of a season!
