Sail Fin Catfish right? Predominately saltwater?

Gulf water mixing with the MS River?
I've been fishing the Mississippi River for catfish for the last 2 years. I fish from a dock in Algiers behind Federal City and have always caught fish, the MS River is loaded!. 80% Channel and 20% Flathead. The largest was a 41lbs channel. However, went out this afternoon and caught five sail fin catfish (salt water cat right?) and zero freshwater catfish. This is very strange, we always catch freshwater cats from there. Has there been any reports from Marine Biologists or wildlife managers that are taking samples of the river? Just curious, because something has changed with the river being so low.

Yep we've caught flounder as far up as WBR Parish few years back when it got real low,There good eating too. Now as for the Reds off Jefferson I'd like to get in on thoses

Low River reds
Yea it was at least 5 or 6 years ago, I cant remember what month but it was definitely summer. My Dad lived off LaBarre road and said he caught a couple flounder out the river. We went over there one afternoon and caught a flounder and 2 Reds off live river shrimp. He moved shortly there after so I never really went back. I think he may have fished it a couple times after that but without much luck.

Happens every year with a low river. Ive caught Redfish and Flounder off the bank of the mississippi right off Jefferson Hwy.
