Definitely use Yamaha Ring Free.Pretty expensive but it works. You might have to shock treat your motor first if you havent been running it!just follow the directions on the bottle. Once you shock the motor the stuff goes a pretty long way since you only have to add 1 ounce to 10 gallons of fuel.
great stuff!!! maybe use sea foam and after just use marine stabil pretty regularly, not every time but every second tank or so!!! just don't use ethanol fuel for sure!!!! i have used marine stabil in fuel and 5 years later, the fuel is just as good as the day i bought it, believe me or not????
change all the filters in that yama, there is one inside the injector tank one on top the tank and one on the side of the engine left. v-max engines are picky eaters, these filters need to be clean. also there is an oxygen sensor on the rear of the engine that should be cleaned. also the three low pressure fuel pumps need to be changed about every 200 hours. do some research on the net, for step by step, these are routine maintanance on the v max to keep em running smooth.
I swear by this stuff. Sea foam is a great product. Take your spark plugs out and spray inside your block. Take your fuel line off going to the motor and fill it up. Spray directly in your carborater. I use sta-bil when I put my engine up after duck season. Don't know if it works, but I try anything these days. But yes to sea foam. If i've been on the rig a while and my boat doesn't run right, some sea foam gets it back right. I even started putting it in me and the wifes vehicles every few months.
