Storm moving in.
HWY 11 Bridge
Morning trip to the HWY 11 Bridge (South End) in Southeast Louisiana to catch some Puppy Drum. Rain storms all around and the bite was slow. Caught several small throwbacks and ended the morning with four keepers. Rain storm was moving in on us so we called it and left them for another day. Nice quick trip before work, on the water for two hours. All fish caught on Gulp Shrimp, white. You have to work all of the pilings jigging the bait and when you find one you will find another in the same spot. Next time we will hit the Twin Span. Happy Fishing!

Nothing special, a Sony Cyber Shot with a Gorilla attachment. I stick it on a rod extender. I need to upgrade to a water and shock proof camera.

Snags at HWY 11 bridge?
How did you avoid snags at the HWY 11 bridge? I have fished that area once and was frustrated by the number of snags I got.

Snags
It is unavoidable but being in the Kayak makes it easier to get them unstuck. Just paddle the opposite way and you may get lucky. Also Jigging straight up and down next to the pylons reduces the possibility and better chance to get that fish. Yes you will need a lot of tackle.

'Old Hwy 11 Bridge'
...ever see a 'debris catch grill' at a pumping stations' intake ???...those pilimgs acted in the same matter during Katrina and God only knows what's still in between them...good video, wished the music score was 'classical' like in 'Snoopy 'da Red Baron' ???...cheers
