Bank fishing on westbank. You could try the little park pier at end of road in Lafitte near seaway marina. Near the Gretna ferry to fish the Mississippi river. Most of this gonna be for catfish. When the weather turns colder, you could head down highway 23 and fish either at myrtle grove marina or grand bayou near port sulphur for reds. Very limited bank fishing areas on westbank. If you want to fish out of a boat you can join me one weekend. I usually fish by myself or with one other friend almost every weekend, especially once this hot weather cools a little.

they have two fishing piers down lafitte or if you want to take a trip down buras, you can fish at the marina by the flag pole. but if you gonna go way down there, you might as well go to the lake in metaire, north of the bonnibel exit. or even go to west end for some fishing. depends on how far you are in the westbank, lake ponchatrain would be the best bet and clostest. catfishing? harvey locks is a close spot to fish.

I was thinking about making the trip down there. Just not sure if I can for a while though. I am gonna hang out around for now and then make my way down there. Thanks for the info. Might try the Harvey locks also.
