I'm curious to know why trolling rattle traps on the causeway is so popular in the spring, but you don't hear much about about it in the summertime. Is there any rhyme or reason for this or is it still productive? My guess is that you cover more ground when the it's slim picking in the spring. Marinas push live shrimp in the summer (profit?) but many people are still very affective flipping plastics at the pilings. Also many posts talk about drum being plentiful at the bridges but where do the specks go? Do they swim on down to the grand isle and dularge beaches to spawn...doubtfull. Down south everyone speaks of specks moving from marsh/bays to beaches to spawn, well in pontchartrain there are no beaches or marsh. Could someone explain the transition in Pontchartrain to me?
