Here's the best spot that I know of, a little more than a half hour away, but well worth it.

Thanks Capt. Marty. I saw that post. However, I haven't been able to find where it is. I see the coordinates on the image/map, but I'm not sure where to plug those in without a GPS (which I don't have). Any way to get directions or an address I can mapquest?
Sorry for any hassle, but thanks SO much for the recommendation! Can't wait to try it.
You can put coordinates into google maps but they have to be formatted correctly. The coordinates from a GPS don't work in Google unless they are like this:
30.251616,-91.72465
copy those into google maps and look for the green arrow -- it's on the Catahoula Levee road and it's in St. Martinville
(edit)well I was totally wrong -- here's the math thanks to BaumZ
Google only supports decimal format.
To convert degrees minutes seconds to Google decimal format
Example:
91 43' 28.4'
30 15' 5.5'
Divide the seconds by 60 first, then add to the minutes. Divide the minutes by 60, then combine with the degrees to get the decimal format.
91 (43' + (28.4/60)) = 91 Degrees 43.4732'
91. (43.4732/60) = 91.72456
30 (15' + (5.5/60)) = 30 Degrees 15.0917'
30. (15.0917/60) = 30.2515
