It can be alot worse if the seas are bad, boat loade or the captain is throttle happy but 1 Statute MPG is usually obtainable if your going on gas powered outboards. Fuel at the dock will prbably run $4/gal. It is not uncommon to run over 200 miles on a tuna trip or 100 miles on a snapper trip in LA. Some boats get better and some may only get 1/2MPG. If you really want to know what to expect ask the captain your going with. If he says it depends see if you can find out his normal range and fuel consumption. I don't do charters but our typical snapper trip burns $400 or so in fuel.

depends on what kind of charter, how many people and what size boat and where u are going?? nomatter what, it ain't cheap!!
