There's one for sale on the side of the road in Brusly near Spillway Sportsman. Probably get a good deal. Seems like a boat like that would be good forever.

there was a post on here a good while back, bashing either hankos or scullys, can't remember which one, because they didn't stand behind their warranty!!! something happened and the guy got jacked!!! i would do a little research first!! you would think these boats, will last a lifetime, but anything made by man, will break sooner or later, probably later, after the warranty expires!!! Yes I would compare the two (Hankos and Scullys) and pick which one is best suited to your needs. One thing I would put on any aluminum boat would be pods or steps or whatever you want to call them. I wouldn't have an aluminum hull without them as they have that many benefits. Benefits, more stable, higher transom level in water, boat sits level in water, almost instant planing, allows alot more trim to get air under hull increasing speed and fuel efficiency, prevent porpoising, run on plane at slower speeds, go in much shallower water, run better in rough water as they don't allow the boat to bounce near as much in waves, boat will list alot less when several people stand on one side or uneven weight distribution. Steps when done right are a must on aluminum boat. If I were buying new I would hang a Yami 4 stroke on and be done with that. I know there are diehard Merc fans but the hours you can put on them Yami 4 strokes with virtually no issues are astonishing plus the quietness and the mileage and the resale are unequaled.

you are absolutly correct!!! yami 4 stroke and pods, if pods are put on correct!!! its the way to go, while you,re getting it built!!!

I would call Charlie Lenard before i go with a hanko are a schully his boat will out perform any of them boat just had him build me one it is a beast 22ft x 6 i put a 150 HPDI yamaha an it run 59.7 GPS...

I live on Rosedale Road. Originally from Larose(not butte larose). Thats where I earned my boots. I've been seeing that boat for a couple of weeks. Hadn't been there in a couple of days. The way they make those things, seems like all you may ever need is a new motor or trailor. That one looked good too huh. You in Port Allen?

Yeah you right... get you a good galvanized trailer and all youll have to do is change the hubs when the bearings wear out and get new tires... plus the investment is awesome because they hold their retail value stupid well.... you see 80's models still goin for 15k!!! Yeah man im in PA... live off Eucalyptus St on Ave G.

I never rode in a scully, but my buddy has a Hanko from 1985 and that boat still looks and rides like a champ. He has an 18 foot with a 115 yam, but its a little underpowered in my opinion.

yeah.. they are SOLID boats... thats the only thing with them is you will pay more for the motor cause you gotta put some a$$ behind it... but it will outlast any cookie cutter boat on the market...

Yea on that 18' i think a 150 would be perfect for it.

I've had Hanko's, Scully's , and Sportsman's Fab custom boats. They are all good. I currently own a Sportsman's Fab bay boat. It's the best one I've owned to date.

Hey T-Hatch, nice boat. What kind of coating do you have on the interior, paint or sprayed liner?

It's sprayed in by Craig Ring at Gator Liners in Morgan City, LA. He did several of these over the years before he perfected the technique, but he's gotten it down to a science now. He did an excellent job. It's textured and not slick at all. The color of mine is light gray. I really like it.

If you buy a hankos boat you better bring a ton of money !!! Well made though,but if you have to deal with them on warranty they are a pain and Martin is a pain to deal with on mechanic work also... Buy a Carles Leonard boat you cant go wrong and save yourself a good bit of money..!
