GPS locked up
Captain Paul, I purchased and uploaded your Hopedale waypoints last year and the recently I purchased the Delacroix waypoints. I was uploading the waypoints today and I got a message that the file was too big. I think I goofed and hit okay instead of exit. Now my unit won't finish up upload and locks up when I try to cycle the view to the GPS screen. My system is a Humminbird 587CI. Any help is appreciated.

AN OPERATING SOFTWARE SOLVED THE PROBLEM

Glad you got the unit fixed. Sometimes the units do not have the latest operating software installed when purchased. We are thankful that the better companies offer updates on the operating software for their units. As you see, Humminbird does offer the upgrades.
Your unit, with the newer software should hold up to 5000 waypoints. That may sound like a lot, but after using the unit for a year or two in different locations that about can be easily reached.
That is why I recommend that boaters save all of their waypoint by areas, much as the Captain Paul’s Fishing Edge files area marketed. That way you can keep about 500 of the waypoint in the unit that regularly use, but have all of the others available for easy downloading via a data transfer program.
Glad you are a second time purchaser of the CAPTAIN PAUL’S FISHING EDGE files. It is an endorsement of the features in the program.

Got it working. I had also updated the software on the unit in addition to uploading new waypoints. So, I uninstalled the software update and everything worked fine.
