What kind of pole are you putting it on ? All I fish is jig poles 10ft and have slater crappie reels on them . The reels are only like $4.00 . Slater is out of miss. and the reels are hard to find in stores but you can order them on line .

Best way to fish them

I would purchase a jig pole first. Also learn how to fix a sliding cork set up a must for fishing inside a top.

if you want a good closed face reel i would go with a zebco 33.
